Welcome to the writing section. I will try to help you pass the writing part of FCE Cambridge exam.
The writing part consists of 2 parts:
- PART 1: writing an essay. Focus on agreeing or disagreeing with a statement, giving information, giving opinion, giving reasons, comparing and contrasting ideas and opinions, drawing a conclusion.
Candidates are required to deal with input of up to 120 words. there is an opening rubric to set the scene, and then an essay question with two given prompts, plus a prompt requiring candidates to write about their own additional idea.
This task is compulsory and the lenght is 140-190 words.
WRITING SAMPLES
- PART 2: candidates choose one task from a choice of three questions: an article, an informal e-mail or letter, a formal e-mail or letter, a report, a review.
It is a situationally based writing task specified in no more than 70 words and the lenght is 140-190 words
You are due to finish this part in 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Each question on the writing paper carries equal mark.
